Facebook climate is changing a little

  • I'm starting to notice ads/suggested articles in my facebook feed that represent conservative viewpoints. Anyone else notice this?

  • Once I found out it was a DARPA project called LifeLog, a C!A operation, I bolted. I had 400 friends, too. I found out later that lot of people thought I had blocked them. 😬

Sorry, I’m not on Fakebook. I share zero values with Fakebook, nor do I contribute to their economy. Anyone with an account contributes to the Fakebook economy, and using the app adds much more to the Fakebook bottom line because you gave them complete access to your phone or tablet when you signed into the app. Everything.

It's not automatically that you contribute, FB can be used to one's advantage, nothing more. If anything drain their bandwidth, keep their fact checkers busy and their employees pulling their hairs out trying to find new ways to censor people. Screw with them like with amazon, I buy stuff just to return it.

Dan, do you use the app? If so, you just gave Fakebook access to every email, webpage, search, text, message, photo, etc., you have on that device. That info is sold, for a significant profit. I know exactly how this works, based on my line of work (that’s all I can say about that.). Fakebook app is the worst of all for being engineered to do this, followed by TikTok.

If you use the web form, you’re correct in saying that you are not directly contributing to Fakebook profit, except by increasing the numbers of users, which Fakebook uses to get more profits via advertisement contracts.

  • I don't use the FB app, I don't see the point. I only access FB through a browser, as with Youtube. Accessing through a browser gives me control, like using an ad blocker for Youtube, I never see ads. That said I question how much access and report back capability FB app has on a given device. Access to emails is a stretch for sure, that would be akin to hacking your email account. If you have evidence it's true I'd like to see it.
