Another DeSantis Win ?

  • The cruise lines laugh at DeSantis just like the southern Counties did all through Covid. Since Covid, DeSantis has not held any company or local authority accountable for breaking the law or EO. What good is a law if no one is held accountable for violating it?

    who is your candidate?

  • Let’s do something about it! Call DeSantis office. 👉 (850) 488-7146

If you can provide more details I will tell all my friends and we will also call!

  • who is your candidate?

Anthony Sabatini has done far more fighting for Floridian freedom than DeSantis. DeSantis can talk a good game, but he rarely follows through. Passing a law is one thing, holding those who violate it is another.

  • How are the cruise lines able to enforce this? Is there a loophole? Like you don't have to show proof of vaccination in order to purchase a ticket, but once you're on board (international waters?) they can require it? It sounds like what they do with gambling. You're not allowed to gamble in port but once the ship hits international waters they open up the casino and the duty free shops etc. I knew something like this was going to happen. Unfortunately, this is the way the law works. There are loopholes and workarounds for everything.

I used to be a yacht stewardess in FLL. In order to get around onerous US tax laws, they'd take the boat out 3 miles offshore into international waters, complete the sale of the boat in international water, not US waters, and then bring it back into port. Then it's an "international sale" and not subject to many of the tax laws of the US. That's what people do.

Let's just hope there are enough pissed off cruise ship passengers getting treated like second class citizens that it prompts an angry backlash and gets them to stop.

  • Has Sabatini given any indication he's running?

We are not discussing who is running for Governor, we are discussing the fact that DeSantis never holds any company or individual accountable for violating the EO or breaking the law. He simply does not walk his talk. And since he does not believe in accountability, local mayors and cruise ship industry ignore the law and do what they please resulting in vaccine passports being allowed in Florida.

Florida is by far the best state in the US to operate a cruise line. If the cruise ships had to make a choice of operating outside of Florida with vaccine passport requirements or operating in Florida with no vaccine requirement, they would cave and remove the vaccine requirement.

What we're discussing is who's your better alternative? So far you got nothing, just ragging on Desantis as you always do. Someone who's uninformed and will hear your constant bitching may actually get swayed by it, vote democrat, and we'll end up with someone very bad.

And it's not up to Desantis to run around and sue cruise companies. The law is now in place, by him, and it's up to someone who takes issue to sue, and win. By me those cruise companies can go bankrupt, I have no use for them and they'll never see my money. So I don't care about their policies. I do think it's a stupid business decision on their part.

  • Dan, I think you missed the sarcasm of the original post by MaximumFreedom . And I still think you missed my original point, why create a law that will never be enforced. And if it is not enforced, then no one can say vaccine passports or vaccine requirements do not exist in Florida. None of this has anything to do with the future election.

CrabMan I'm not missing anything. Just stop ragging on Desantis. Remember Desantis narrowly won his election - Against a Democrat who got caught naked in a hotel room, with a male prostitute and Methamphetamine. We need to be united on this, the alternative is unthinkable. Consider how many morons you influence with your words.

  • Sabatini recently kicked off his run for Congress.

I’m Florida’s MOST conservative #AmericaFirst patriot—and I’m running to defeat leftist Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy in FL D-7 to win the House back for the GOP

They are breaking the law its 5,000 per violation people need to start documenting and hire attorney and stop depending on Desantis for everything. The man non stops working and has done alot for our state. Everyone in the whole world is looking at Florida for hope so stop complaining about Desantis and be grateful. Happy 4th!

The law is set up for the state to fine the cruise ships, not private citizens. It is 100% DeSantis's responsibility to ensure the the cruise ships adhere to Florida law!

    CrabMan,

    1. Law took effect 3 days ago, courts require “standing “ for all conservatives, so standing has to b developed. Also, what is your awareness of the back channel comms here?

    2. Cruise lines are not subject to state law once they get to 12.1 NM off the coast, therefore they can ask and do whatever they want at that point, subject to the limits of US law. DeSantis knows this (Navy lawyer), and knows even your Great Sabatini can’t do anything about it.

    3. If an individual experiences harm by Carnival, they need to sue under the FL law. DeSantis can’t fight every battle for us. He’s given US the tools, now use them.

  • Someone in this conversation thread suggested that folks should get lawyers and sue the cruise lines. Where the hell were all these lawyers when folks' civil rights were infringed upon by being unlawfully and illegally arrested for being maskless?

The cruise ships are forcing those not vaccinated to get travel insurance before they board the ship. The cruise ships definite are not waiting to go 12 miles off shore before asking passengers if they are vaccinated or not The fact is, vaccine passports do exist in Florida. The cruise lines need to be fined by Florida as the law allows or find a different port to operate out of.

Crabman, as I mentioned on the other thread, identify as vaccinated as my family and I do because we have God’s inoculation from an actual COVID-19 infection and recovery. Once onboard, collect all the required information to determine if the FL law is actually being broken, and then take it to the FL AG if needed.

In full disclosure, I hate cruises and cruise lines, but on the other hand I know they bring a lot of vacationers to FL, and that means $$$. I’m sure the state is well aware of that and are considering ALL of the impacts…
