By Chris Nelson. April 27, 2021. ***This is a correction to an earlier story which erroneously reported that Gov DeSantis had allowed the Emergency to Expire.**** Governor Ron DeSantis has extended the State of Emergency in Florida another two months with a warning to "prepare to resume non-emergency operations". This will put the State of Florida under a state of Emergency for a total of 15 months. It has been revealed that DeSantis' State of Emergency is directly tied to the forced masking of children (Read here: PASCO SCHOOLS ADMIT! "AUTHORITY TO REQUIRE MASKS DEPENDS ON STATE OF EMERGENCY") The internet is filled with speculation and misinformation on this issue (which Free Florida has regrettably contributed to, but corrected). The order in its full text can be read below.

RINO!!! Governor Ron De$anti$ EXTEND$ $tate of Emergency Continuing Forced Masking on Children

It's hard to imagine one state to stop suckling on the federal teat while all the others are firmly latched on. Would mean more milk goes to the others making them stronger leaving Florida at a disadvantage. I just can't see it happening.
Simply DO NOT COMPLY!
-
Give me a break, this hardly makes DeSantis a RINO.

While I agree, you know.. gotta make noise/draw attention/overreact
The left do it all the time.
But I wonder does it do any good to put this kind of pressure. Desantis is still going to do what he believes is right. At the same time people who lack good understanding may be swayed to thing he's bad for us. Really he's done well considering what he's up against. What do you really think ChrisNelson?

I may agree he is not a RINO, but he surely has demonstrated his weakness. He has been extremely weak with the south county mayors ignoring his SOE orders. And he will continue to demonstrate his weakness in the months to come. I will bet you several companies and local municipalities will ignore his barring of vaccine passport requirements. In addition, he will be weak with big tech. He is big talk when it comes to vaccine passports and big tech censorship, but that is it, all talk, no action. He never follows through on his tough talk. Just watch and see, more weakness will be observed.

I agree he needs to get tougher and stop just talking.

CrabMan, please let us know when you see anyone breaking the law (soon to be signed) and requiring experimental vaccine passports to do anything. Will do the same.
Is the South Beach Food Festival still requiring tests or vaccines? If so, let’s roll with a protest.

Anne Gannon, Palm Beach County's Tax Collector has already has already made the experimental vaccine mandatory for employment. Last I heard from Lee Schrager <LeeSchrager@sgws.com>, one of the Food and Wine festival organizers, a negative Covid test or vaccine is required to attend. And DeSantis will surely cave into the cruise ship industry.

That is simply talk, not action. Today, mandatory mask mandates and mandatory vaccines exist in south Florida. Talk is cheap. Action takes courage. When do we re-visit this topic to see if DeSantis backs the talk that you provided in the above link.?
-
Where are the government mandated mask mandates still maintained? I haven’t seen any still standing, but I live up north in Central Florida as well as Florbama. Private property owners on the other hand can mandate if they want. Always could, but before SARS COVID 2 no one would want to comply..
Requiring an experimental vaccine, that is a violation of Federal and soon to be state law and brings with it a $5k fine for each instance. Gov DeSantis has stepped in with an executive order in the interim, as we know, however each individual case needs to be challenged. The Governor can’t take on every case individually.

I can tell you at least listen and try to understand, but there are so many north Floridians that love DeSantis because to them Florida is completely open in their world. I spend 50% of my time in north central Florida and the other half in Palm Beach County. Trust me, it is too different worlds. I did not see one mask during my last two week visit upstate. However, those up north don't want to hear about restrictions in the south and assume the stories are being made up to hurt DeSantis.
-
I get your point, the governments and boards in Central and South Florida are following Falsie’s guidance rather than the Governor’s, therefor protests need to commence, and not stop until the “leadership” in South Florida either relents (unlikely), resigns or is deposed. If the protests get big enough, the Governor will be more likely to act. It is a matter of political economy; Trump plays that economy as well. He’s pro-vaccine all the way.

Not sure if there's a way to even approach the problem with executive orders. It's an interesting issue, and does tend to fall along red and blue lines, but it's so much worse than a differing political opinion. This is about Natural Health Rights.
South Florida is full of rabid pro-mask brainwashed mentally ill people. Mainly in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami Dade counties. Both the general left liberal population as well as the local "leadership" are ignoring the Governor.
Those folks actually have Nosophobia which is an irrational fear of a specific medical illness. They cannot live their lives normally and are forcing other people to participate in their mental illness and act out their fears. It's a real mental illness, and it's caused by watching too much media coverage about a disease https://www.verywellmind.com/what-is-nosophobia-2671624
and Disease Mongering https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disease_mongering
Our friends in Central Fl didn't believe what was happening here until they visited. They kept asking why do people want to be ruled over like this?

I am not sure it all falls along party lines. I do believe the media tries to potray that image. Just on my street I have two neighbors, one very liberal and voted for Biden. The other very conservative and just can't say enough about Trump and DeSantis. The liberal one is very anti-mask and anti-COVID test and vax, while the conservative neighbor is already fully vaccinated and does not understand why I have such a difficult time with the mask mandates. I have seen many similarities in other places as well.

Well that's great to know! At least there are a few liberal anti mask anti vaxers. I love to be wrong about that! Good!
But... at first glance the blue counties in FL are the ones acting insane, no? The conservative parts of the state seem to be less hell-bent on wearing the masks forever.
My own extended family seems to love the masks & vaccines and they are all rabid left wing half communists, so that might be clouding my objectivity too.
Personally, I don't do the left/right dialectic because the synthesis of both is always the worst parts. What happened to protecting the rights of the citizens?
