Million Maskless March & Mask Burning in Ft Lauderdale!

    I admit I didn't set out to find a mask burning event. But winding my way through news articles in hopes of something to write about for a class I am taking, I found the ever-present and often used "Florida Man" caption. Then I realized this time Florida Man didn't carry an alligator into a convenience store or run naked over a golf course. Instead, he cares about something much more important, our freedom in Florida and this country. I would love to attend this event. I have always thought masks were stupid and cleanliness was much more important. But it is that "mandate" thing that bothers me the most. I live up north in St. Augustine, work, attend UF online, and have a load of pets and grandkids so I might not make it. But you have my complete support and hopefully, this event will inspire other events all over the place.


    Now if I could only ask for one thing from you, for my class story. Just a quote I can use. Here are some general suggestions. What do you hope to accomplish by this mask burning? What made you decide to burn masks? Why did you choose Spring? Are you equally as upset that there are suggestions of vaccine passports (everywhere but Florida)? Thank God for our Governor! I would really and truly appreciate anything you can give me. But I must be honest, my paper will only be viewed by my liberal professor and maybe his aide, for now anyway. But you might find pleasure in knowing their heads might explode. I will watch for your quote here in this forum or feel free to email me marshajmellow@yahoo.com.

    Just curious, are you from north Florida. I here this all the time from those upstate. They insist no one ever gets arrested for not wearing a mask anywhere in Florida.

    No one gets arrested for not wearing a mask. They get arrested for trespassing, after refusing to leave after being told to leave by the person in charge of the establishment. The reason for being told to leave is irrelevant to the trespassing from a legal standpoint.


    I have a few trespass warnings myself resulting from not wearing a face diaper, but I never got arrested because I have the sense to leave when the police show up and tell me that if I don't leave I will be arrested for trespassing. From the police point of view it doesn't matter to them why the establishment wants me to leave, just that they told me already. After that the police must take action.


    It's no different from someone coming to my place of business wearing a face diaper, I don't allow it. I tell the person that I will not serve them. Normally if they insist about the mask then they just leave. But there have been occasions when they got wordy and I told them to leave. If at that point they don't leave, I can call the police and they would follow the same process.

    Wearing masks is totally useless. Even Fauci said at one point they don't help. It actually gives people a false sense of security. Hand washing and keeping hands from face will protect better than any mask.

    Ahh the hand washing.. you have virus on your hands, you turn the water on (touch the faucet handle and leave virus on it), wash your hands (supposedly getting the virus off them), then turn the faucet off (picking up the virus you left on the faucet handle a moment ago). Sounds like a crock of shit to me.

    Dan, I challenge you to go to the library maskless. DeSantis has forbidden any punishment for not wearing a mask. You can not trespass at the library as it is a public place. Also, don't forget, trespassing is not the only charge being used. You are civil disobedient if you don't wear a mask. While technically, the charge has nothing to do with the mask, must of us know it has everything to do with the mask. It is simply a game of words.

    So you think someone who quietly walks in a library without a mask is causing a disturbance just because they have no mask and that they deserve to be thrown out or arrested? That makes no sense to me. Now I do see a difference when someone walks into Costco without a mask screaming at all those with a mask. That is a disturbance, but that is not the scenario I am referring to.

    Yes I would attend if not so far from Panama City. I hope someone organizes one of these in the Florida panhandle! Great idea and I hope millions attend! Burn them all. Wonder if the media will cover this march?
